i'm pretty sure this is due to a "bug" in our libIDL package.
i'm building with ccache (http://ccache.samba.org/) and libIDL is
picking that up as $CPP.
i'll fix this today - in the mean time doing:
ln -s /usr/bin/gcc /usr/bin/ccache
as root should fix it.
