I have recently notice a big slow down in my gnome-Terminal lately.
I wish I could pin point the date exactly as I have been updating them
regularly using red carpet, but it was somewhere around 2 weeks ago I
started noticing.
My system is Red Hat 7.2 with most of the gnome 2 snapshot stuff on
it, k6-250, 256meg, riva128.
It seems to have to do with refreshing the screen. Anytime the screen
is moved or resized the processor monitor slams to 100%. Same thing when
your working in the terminals, scrolling just seems to take for ever. As
a test I hit the return key 10 times in a row, takes 20 seconds(cpu
monitor slammed). :( Tried the same thing using xtem and a regular tty
terminal and the response is instantaneous.
Any clues would be appreciated, I hate to resort to xterm.
