As far as i've seen Ximian Gnome (whether it's 1.4 or 2) was ported also to the Solaris 8 for UltraSPARC platform, but as most solaris enthusiasts (at least back here in RO) can't aford their own Sparc Box, they decided to go on with Solaris intel platform edition, which was available for download for free till (I belive) the begining of this year and now costs somewhere around $ 45. There are also a lot of Solaris fan's in the US, whether it's just for fun or bussiness or cross-platform software development. I'm not gonna go on raising a statue for Solaris/x86, but I think that Ximian Gnome (at least, If not also the Desktop) deserves to be also ported to the intel version of Solaris. If it's possible for UltraSPARC, (I Belive) there shouldn't be any problems to port-it to intel. It should be (I'm not sure) only a matter of recompilation. Any-way, as I'm freshly subscribed to this list, I belive that it's not to much to ask about the scheduled release date of Ximian Gnome2. I greately apreciate your patience and comitment to providing a truely great desktop enviroment to Linux/Unix users. Yours truly, Razvan VILT <[email protected]> SOA IN lumina.ro. I can (try to be of) help... _______________________________________________ gnome-2-snapshots maillist - [email protected] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/gnome-2-snapshots
