automake-1.6 and automake-1.4

Hi,

I just installed the new automake-1.6 package. Some of the source trees
I have on my machine stopped building, but after running autogen.sh,
everything works again.

However, some of the modules I have are still dependent on automake-1.4;
wouldn't it be better if the automake package keeps an 'automake-1.4'
binary?
