Yes.  'Cat'ing text to the screen causes pauses, and heavy (80-90%) cpu
usage.  Also the fonts are screwed again :-(

However, I have noticed that memory management is much better.  Having
the same app running is using less virtual memory.

Redhat 7.2 2.4.19 kernel.
