Re: key repeating?

I've had that problem. If key repeat is enabled, all it does is type a
key twice rather than waiting a moment before repeating the key stroke?

The problem as far as I can see was an absence of settings in GConf.
When I fired up GConf, and found that under
apps/desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard I was missing the "rate" and the
"delay" tags. Fiddling with the sliders from the keyboard preferences
dialog made those tags auto-magically appear and then key repeat seemed
to work just fine.

That was my experience at any rate.
