Notes on most recent snapshots...

Hey y'all -

Not withstanding the previously mentioned problem about font resolution,
some other odd behavior I wanted to report... every time I log in from
gdm2, before the session begins, the audio mixer is run without a window
manager to provide window decoration... only after I quit the audio
mixer does the splash screen come up and the session continue...
Additionally, items on my Nautilus desktop whose names extend past what
a line length would be has the text wrapped to the next line mid word...
for example "Documents Folder" is rendered as "Documen\nts Folder"...
