Re: /usr/lib/libxml2.la ?

It is a conscious choice not to ship them, made by the previous 
maintainer of the snapshots (boc).

I don't know enough about it to comment with authority on the matter, 
and for the same reason I am reluctant to change that decision--so 
unless someone has some compelling reasons it'll stay that way.
