Type1 fonts as desktop, application font etc

For first i want to thank all developers for their great work bringin
precompiled Gnome2 to other distros than RH8 :-)

Well my problem is as $SUBJ sayz, i installed some nifty looking type1
fonts, did 'type1inst' in each folder, then i added the paths with
'chkfontpath' and last command was 'xset fp rehash', without restarting
the session i can use that new fonts in Gimp, but when i select them in
gnome-font-properties it only selects older TT fonts installed long time
before :-(.

I'm using RH7.3, snaps 200212051856, Xfree 4.2.

If someone could kick me in right way to solving this i would be really
happy.
