It fixed it for me as well.

I had some other problems but was able to fix them,
1) Menu's had no icons, but when I checked the preferences, the images
button was checked.  Unchecked, and rechecked, worked.
2) Window List applet didn't display any of the open programs, when I
checked settings the min and max size were both 0.
3) Haven't fixed this yet, keyboard doesn't repeat strokes anymore.

I've been using Gnome since 1.2 and 2.0 is a big improvement.
