XD2 gnome-vfs2-devel package missing libgnomevfs2.la file

I'm just wondering if there is any way I can get the libgnomevfs2.la 
file?  I've searched my entire system and haven't been able to find it.  
I have a couple of programs I am trying to compile that error out with 
an error that libgnomevfs2.la couldn't be found.  In looking through the 
/opt/gnome2/lib dir (On a SuSE 8.2 box) I noticed that there are quite a 
few .la files missing.

Does anyone know where I can find these files, or if there is a way to 
get around compilation errors in programs that are trying to find this 
file while compiling?  Thanks in advance.
