May I prevail upon you for some advice about my next upgrade? My m.o. is to upgrade my OS every 12 months or so, and to do so by buying the boxed set with DVD/CDs. My next upgrade, then, should be in January or February 2005. As I said, my current set-up is SuSE 9.0 Pro, XD2, Evolution 1.4.6, RC 2.2.3, Ximian oOo 1.1.1. What should my next step be? Should I go for SuSE 9.2 Pro, or is 9.3 coming out soon? (SuSE 9.0 is "old?" Geeez, it only came out at New Year's <sigh>). Sounds like a .x every 3-4 months. Is there any reason why I should do a complete new installation rather than an upgrade? My system is pretty simple - I'm a home/SOHO user and I'd rather avoid a scorched-earth approach, if possible. Most importantly, will a SuSE Pro 9.2 (or 9.3) upgrade package contain everything necessary to upgrade all of my system (not just Evolution), or will I need to obtain upgrades separately for any of the above? When installing the SuSE upgrade and opting for Gnome, will it upgrade XD2 or simply replace it with SuSE Gnome? (I struggled with the SuSE version of gdm and XD2 for many weeks earlier this year ...). Sounds like XD2 is dead.
