librsvg upgrade kills X

I wanted to try the new linux iFolder client, which requires mono and 
gtk-sharp.

Gtk-sharp-0.17-0.ximian.8.0, available via red carpet on the mono 
channel, requires an upgrade of librsvg from my current version of 
librsvg-2.2.5-42.ximian.8.4 to librsvg-2.7.1-0.ximian.8.2.

I installed said upgrade to librsvg and lost X windows.  Upon restart of 
X, I get gray background, rotating hour glass, and that's it.  After 
putting older version back on, X starts fine.

Anyone been able to get a working combination of these packages running 
on a SuSE 9 XD2 system?  I would really like to try the iFolder client.
