In the Composer, click the Attach button. Select one attachment at a
time and click OK. You will see the attachment at the bottom of the
Composer.
You can select multiple files at a time by using the <Shift> modifier
while selecting files, just like in Nautilus and most other file
managers.
Using Nautilus, you can drag-n-drop files to the Composer, rather than
using the file-selector, even multiple files. When dropping the file(s),
just drop it over the header of the Composer. There is a known bug, if
you drop it over the text area in 1.4.x versions.
FYI: You can attach mails, by dropping mails from the mail list just
like any other attachment.
