I'm running XD2 on Redhat 9.
When I select the option:"Write to CD" of the "burn:///" window, I get
indeed the dialog windows as described below(part of the Ximian
knowledge base). But in the Target field I don't get the options
mentioned and I can only select the brand and type of my CD writer. I'm
using: "nautilus-cd-burner-0.6.2-0.ximian.6.1" after upgrading from
"nautilus-cd-burner-0.4.2-0.ximian.6.3". However this didn't make any
difference. Which version is the "new tool for writing to CD-R disks"?
Thanks.

How do I burn a CD? Question Nautilus has a new tool for writing to
CD-R disks. How do I use it? Answer To write to a CD-R or CD-RW
disc:
     1. Open a Nautilus window
     2. Select Go -> CD Creator or enter the special Nautilus location
        burn:///.
     3. Drag the files you want to burn to CD into the burn:/// window.
     4. Select File -> Write to CD. A dialog window opens.
     5. Select the target for your files. You may choose a CD-R or CD-RW
drive, or create a disk image (.ISO) file.
     6. Select a write speed. (Note: Reducing the write speed can
        prevent some errors.)
     7. Enter a name for your CD.
     8. Click OK.
If you want to burn an existing ISO file, right click on it and select
"Write to CD..."
