OK, seems the SMTP server is answering and likely correct. This means,
the port is assigned correctly, too.

Are all other listed options in that dropdown unavailable after
checking?

As the only thing under AOL control in this setup are the servers, AOL
sure can screw up them. But nothing at all on your local machine.

Iff [1] these servers are screwed up, this is not an Evo issue. Please
complain to AOL then. ;)


AOL has no control over your machine at all. Please, EOT. Let us
concentrate on your issue instead...

Nope, there is no window indicating that *this* message will be sent
using AOL account.

Instead, it tells you there are still mails left to be sent using the
AOL account. See my other post, just some minutes before.

You don't have to change the account at this point. Actually, this would
be a major UI flaw, if the user could. At this stage, composing is
finished and mails are being sent.

Regarding the error: Are you sure, the account settings are correct?

I would use telnet to see for myself, but speaking to SMTP servers isn't
trivial -- however, it isn't difficult either.
