Make sure at least the major version 1.4.x matches. Do not try to import
to an older 1.2.x version.

To verify the Evolution version without actually starting the Evo GUI:

$ evolution --version
Gnome evolution 1.4.5

You did mean UID (and GID) here, didn't you? The users password is
irrelevant to Evolution.
