Screensaver still freezes; RC still needs CLI

After 2-3 months of letting sleeping dogs lie, I thought I'd bring up a couple of unresolved annoyances with SuSE Pro 9.0, XD2 again, and see if anyone has made any progress on them: 1. I tried to start using the screensaver again. Unfortunately, I still get the same result: a few minutes after the screensaver starts, *everything* freezes up and *nothing* works to unblock it (not even Ctrl-Alt-Backspace nor Ctrl-Alt-Del etc.). I have to do a cold reboot. 2. In a User session, I can open a Red Carpet window but cannot switch to su in order to use it. I have to open a terminal, switch to su, and run "red-carpet."
