Well, you start by telling a bit more about what "not working" means. There are a number of reasons that rc might stop working, but without knowing the symptoms it's a bit difficult to know what your precise problem is. One thing to check first though: red carpet uses rpm behind the scenes so if anything is wrong with rpm then red carpet will just hang (I've seen this recently). Try "rpm -qa" and make sure it actually does something.
