No channel for the connector?

Ok, so I installed red carpet, I already have evo-1.4.

I'm following the instructions posted here:

http://www.novell.com/products/connector/download.html

but when I click on Edit->channel subscriptions as it instructs me to,
there are NO SUBSCRIPTIONS!

How can I add/create subscriptions so that I can get the connector?
