I will venture to say that this is not the LUG for such a question. A much better resource for such questions would be http://www.gnome.org/gnome-pilot/ or (though it seems to be rather dead..as a user group list.) http://pilot-link.org/ http://www.slac.com/pilone/kpilot_home/ It would also be of use to post some details about your error. Output of /var/log/messages from the time of plugging in the Treo to the point where you press the sync button and get errors. This helps establish what the kernel is seeing and where the device is on the USB (or Serial) bus. Most issues are in building 'conduits' which can be worked through after basic 'sync' works. After Gnome-Pilot or K-Pilot successfully receive data then working on sync issues with evolution can be tackled.
