aspell options

Hi,
     I have an input file that contains a single Tamil word to be 
corrected. I want the output to be in a file. I tried
the following:

aspell -d ta -c input.txt > output.txt

But, the output file(output.txt) is not formatted properly ...contains lot 
of junk characters along with the suggested
words and options.
I want the output file to be formatted properly...containing just the 
suggested words.
