is there a way to ignore English words when checking Cyrillic

Hi,

I'm using aspell 0.60.3 and preparing to release new dictionaries for 
Ukrainian language. The problem is currently if there are any English 
words in the text it'll try to check them, of course failing to 
recognize any. So the question is if it's possible somehow to ignore 
English words when checking cyrillic, e.g. based on character set used 
in the language? ispell does that somehow.
