Aspell make error during installation

Hi, 

When I try and configure and install the 
aspell-0.60.4 I receive the following error:

The config seems to work fine but when the make starts 
it seems to die with the following error:

I'm using 
gcc version 2.95.1
SunOS 5.8 Generic_117350-36 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-480R

ld: fatal: relocations remain against allocatable but non-writable sections
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [libaspell.la] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory '/path/to/where/I/have/aspell files/'
make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1
