Hello! I'm a Gentoo user too, and Aspell 0.60.6 compiled fine here.
Please consider syncing the Portage tree and running revdep-rebuild,
maybe "emerge -uDav world" too. If the problem persists, open a bug at
gentoo's bugzilla, with all the information they ask for (e.g., the
build log, the output of emerge --info).
