aspell Ubuntu problem (Help!)

Hi,

When i use aspell with Ubuntu Linux (UTF-8 encoding) i cant replace any word
by a word with special chars like "ç, á, é ã," etc. I'm using aspell-pt-br.
Somebody can help-me?
