I don't see how this freedom can possibly have been endangered by anyone who distributes a cygwin1.dll that has been build from the -widely available- released sources. But anyway, we like the GPL, and we're happy to uphold it in every respect. > We're just asking that you make sources available when you > provide the binary. Well I'd say that it was a bit unfortunate that you bugged the wrong person about this... I'm the one who operates the server where the binary package is made available to the general public, and hence I think I'm the person to bug about any problems with missing source code tarballs. Full source code (not only of cygwin, but -according to my best knowledge- also of everything else that is needed to build that installer package) is available from that server too.
