Reinhard/anyone: how do you create GFD files currently? By hand in a text editor, only - or with the help of some script? [sorry if this was already answered; i do not see record in gnue-dev archive of recent months, and irc-logs are empty since 2010-09.] One of my thoughts, which I had not yet spelled out on the maillist, is a command-line script to generate a basic GFD file from a schema, like what we would expect from the Designer wizard/druid. (I see something about gnue-schema, which generates schema SQL-DDL from XML, but I'm more interested in the other way around, generate GFD-XML from schema.) Purpose of such script would be two-fold: * useful on its own, before getting Designer up & running, maybe still after; * unit test or proof of concept of code to be adaptable for Designer. Strategy of such script would be as follows: 1. adapt portions of legacy Designer (0.5) wizard to a command-line script, but generate new-style hbox/vbox GFD rather than legacy x-y GFD. 2. adapt generation of hbox/vbox GFD from script to Designer. /Randall <http://whizman.com>
