Designer won't load in ubuntu 6.06

I have an up to date ubuntu 6.06 system with gnue installed from the 
universe component running on an amd64 system with 1G ram.

gnue-designer 0.5.7-1
gnue-forms 0.5.13-1
gnue-navigator 0.0.9-1
gnue-reports 0.1.8-1

I use postgresql as my database. Gnue-forms works fine for the most part 
and I use it routinely with forms I created in an earlier version of 
designer on another machine but gnue-designer will not load while giving 
the following lines in a shell:

I would prefer to use the updating system in ubuntu, however, it is 
becoming more urgent for me to alter the forms I have and produce new 
ones. I would like to start generating reports also. What kind of time 
frame do you expect for the next ubuntu 6.06? Alternative to that, do 
you have any suggestions about how I can get my present designer up and 
running.

I have installed from source before and can again if that is the only 
alternative but if this is a problem with other people it should be 
fixed or eliminated from the ubuntu tree.
