Hello, My suggestion for improving the /etc/DIR_COLORS file, used by ls(1), is to move the 'COLOR tty' section (lines 6 to 10) after the 'TERM' section (lines 18 to 33). This should improve ls output in the case when users are connecting to a GNU/Linux machine from other Unices with other termcap/terminfo files. For example: When I connect from SCO OpenServer or SCO UnixWare to a GNU/Linux machine, the ls output is full of ascii garbage like \033]01 using the default /etc/DIR_COLORS file. After I made the above change to the file, the output is correct. Best regards, Victor Meghesan __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster.
