I would prefer to leave the decision up to you. Because 1. I've not read the whole thread and 2. I am not sure that find's -printf, as it stands now, is up to the job of reproducing the output format that the user wants in this case. Certainly I'm not volunteering to enhance -printf right now, should it turn out that that would be needed. James.
