Many thanks for the quick replies.

Greg, you're right, I forgot to give you details re the environment, sorry
about that.

OS: Linux (dockerized, tried debian-slim and alpine)
sources: bleeding edge from git

I've followed the official documentation, i.e. autogen, configure, make.

As I was having issues, I gave the cmake option a go and that way Gama
compiled just fine.
