Well, is your machine connected to the net, is  a firewall blocking the route 
to viper.unige.ch?

I am not familiar with the PHP interface. Anyhow, I would suggest grepping for 
viper.unige.ch in the PHP sources and associated file and change this to your 
local server, if you are running the stuff in your local server.
