Hi,

Below is part of my config file.=20

					 <query-paradigm type=3D"inverted-file"/>
					 <query-paradigm type=3D"perl-demo"/>
					 </query-paradigm-list>
					 </collection>

Just wanted to know, why does it says number of images is 0 instead of 15 a=
nd 1000 respectively. what is cui-base-dir? is it the directory where the i=
mage is located or where the images index is going to be placed?

Don't worry.=20

Well, the GIFT Server receives queries (this query should contain an image =
location) and sends out results (this result should contain several image l=
ocations). In the bits of screen output you sent us there were no image loc=
ations, unless I overlooked something.=20

So I don't think you ran a query.=20

Well Rahayu,=20
in what you send I do not see image URLs. So I would not expect anything to=
 be shown. Or did I overlook anything???=20

Hi,=20

the gift-config file seems OK. Usually the php interface should show images=
 unless the URLs of the images are not accessible. Are interface and server=
 on the same machine? Do you use file:/ or http:// URLs? Can you send a lin=
e of the url2fts file of the collection you are accessing?=20

It is normal that the first access to gift tskes longer as data on the coll=
ection is initialized but usually the queries are fast once things are anal=
yzed correctly.=20

Can you also give more information on the version of linux you are using?=
=20

Hi,=20

Ok...I'll try starting gift that way. I can connect to the gift server via =
the php interface as the images indexed are listed there..but I can't see a=
ny images. What I meant by takes a long time is loading time for the whole =
page content..all I can see is the page frame, collection list, algorithm l=
ist, result list, random and query button. I also attached my config file.=
=20

Thank you.=20

Hi,=20

first of all I would always type the port number and the configuration dire=
ctory manually to make sure that the right ones are used. Your config file =
seems valid but I think that you used an existing one and the database RSNA=
 should be deleted unless you really have it (which I doubt). Maybe sending=
 your config file would make sense as well.=20

Can you connect to your gift server via the php interface? What takes a lon=
g time? I think that there is some detail missing in your mail.=20

If the interface does not show at all then this is rather an apache/php pro=
blem ...=20

Cheers, Henning=20
