libMRML.so.1 cannot open shared object file

I started to relook into gift

I am getting this error when I try and create a collection
"

/usr/local/bin/gift-generate-inverted-file: error while loading shared libraries: libMRML.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
"


the libMRML.so.1 is in /usr/local/lib

can you help me fix this error?

ps: I am using ubuntu
