Hi,

this is one of the weak points of inverted files, you normally need to 
regenerate them if you add images. Large systems often have one large 
inverted file and a small one that is used to add images. Every once in 
a while the new large inverted file is generated by adding those of the 
small one. This saves time for trhe regeneration as small files are much 
faster to build.
This has not yet been done with gidt but would be interesting to see.
Of course, you do not need to re-extract the features of the existing 
images again.
