how to install GNu Gift

hello am installing GNU Gift version 0.1.11.
As said in the install file i have move to the folder where the source code is 
and then type ./configure.
Am getting this


cseuser@cselab2pc30:~/personal/gift-0.1.11$ cd gift-0.1.11
cseuser@cselab2pc30:~/personal/gift-0.1.11/gift-0.1.11$ ./configure
bash: ./configure: /bin/sh^M: bad interpreter: No such file or directory

but the file configure do exists in the folder.
