The branch bugfix-WIP contains several bug fixes and similar 
changes accumulated since the last master update.

It includes the "llvm" patch, dc continue, transient backward 
time step, comment syntax, static constant order, Make patch, 
node count, some cleanup, and testing.

Please check.  If no problems it will be pushed to master.
