I used the eq7 benchmark from the old tarball, 589829 nodes, transient
analysis.

Run time in gnucap, default settings, 136 seconds.
gnucap, tuned for speed, 33 seconds.
gnucap, "slow" options, 453 seconds.

For contrast .. ngspice, default settings, 521 minutes.

I do know why the difference.
