I have been off on a wild guess tangent.

Found that forward voltage of a diode model is determined by IS, N, RS.
It's not related to the VJ "Junction Potential" parameter at all...

suggests using a spreadsheet to match a datasheet graph to the diode I-V curve at DC.
I'll be looking at that.
