What is the point of GGRADEBOOK ???

Can someone tell me the point of ggradebook?  It seems like a
complicated and specialized way to do something this can be done
more easily and flexibly and generally using a spreadsheet.  And with
a spreadsheet you can export to other spreadsheets, you can generate
histograms and other graphs, you can sort and select, you can import
files like lists of names, and all that other good stuff.

Is there some functionality ggradebook has that I've missed?
