I am not familiar with Codeberg, but I also dislike merge commits. It
just litters the 'git log'. And sometimes I like using web history
through whatever forge, cgit, etc. where you can't do
'git log --no-merges'.

That page leads me to a 404 since I am not part of the group. :)

But everything looks correct when I pull from savannah, so looks like
your process is good.
