I built the tarball and ran 'make check' on the following platforms. All
tests PASS or SKIP:

    * Fedora 43 x86_64
    * OpenBSD 7.7 mips64
    * FreeBSD 15.0 x86_64
    * MacOS 12.6 aarch64
    * NetBSD 10.0 aarch64
    * Solaris 11.4 sparc

AIX 7.3.3 needs some work to build, but I do not recall it ever
building.

So, I think it should be fine to release.
