Hello,
LilyPond 2.7.4 has support for proportional notation, where
the space for a note is proportional to the time it takes.
some small samples are available from
http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.7/Documentation/topdocs/out-www/NEWS.html
It encompasses the following spacing features
* When `strict-note-spacing' is set, notes are spaced without regard
for clefs, bar lines, and grace notes.
* Notes can be spaced proportional to their time-difference by
assigning a duration to `proportionalNotationDuration'.
* Symbol sizes (e.g. accidentals) are disregarded for spacing if
`uniform-stretching' of the `SpacingSpanner' grob is set.
These improvements have been sponsored by Trevor Baca. He has also
sponsored various improvements to tuplet formatting,
* Tuplets can be made to reach the next non-tuplet note by setting
the `tupletFullLength' property.
* Tuplet brackets get arrows when they are broken across a line.
* Arrow heads were added to the Feta font.
* Nested tuplets are automatically positioned,
Furthermore, there are a bunch of small bugfixes in 2.7.4.
The MacOS X, Autopackage, and Fedora packages are uploaded as I send
this. The windows version will follow soon, hopefully.
