Mentor to submit lilypond code?

I’ve modified lilypond locally to add a “—dependency-file=“ option; I find this very useful for makefiles — my pdf target gets rebuilt if any files included in the .ly source have changed.

This required minimal changes to the code base, and I’d like to contribute the changes. But I’m not sure of all the steps necessary to submitting the changes.

I’m familiar with cc, scheme (that’s how I made the changes), git, etc. I made the changes on the 2.24.3 branch, I’m using MacOS.
