I've never seen this before.  Have you considered using a different,
older Python version, maybe 3.12 or 3.13?  It's possible that some
things have changed in the most recent version, and Python got
pickier.

Maybe Jonas or Han-Wen can give further advice.

BTW, if I compile the English (mandatory) and French (obligatory)
documentation, I usually do

```
make doc -j12 CPU_COUNT=12 LANGS="en fr"
```
