The meter
  EgejkiMajki.ly:  \time 3,2,2,3,2 12/8
that I use actually has a duplet substructure, corresponding to
  \time #'(\tuplet 2/3 3 2 2 \tuplet 2/3 3 2) 12/8

Then, as an example of irrational meters, and how to engrave them in LilyPond, I wrote
the time signatures (8+2√5)/8 and (6+4√2)/8, derived from approximations of 3/2: the first the somewhat higher golden ratio (1+√5)/2, and the second somewhat lower √2. From the musical point of view, the idea is to erase the exact ratios in “\time 3,2,2,3,2 12/8”, as in real performances, there is quite a deviation.

Then for the MIDI output, I approximated these respectively by
  \time 5,3,3,5,3 19/8
  \time #'(7 5 5 7 5) 29/8
One way to find such rational approximations is by the use of continued fraction convergents.

When I compile these examples now, I get an error that the character ‘√’ is not present in the font emmentaler-16.
