From what I remember using the German translation, I was not exactly
enthused with its style, meaning that if I had tried working on it
myself, I probably would have gone from scratch.  In combination with
its datedness, I am not sure we'd be doing ourselves a favor by priming
an LLM on the existing documentation.

I recently was lazy enough to use an LLM to translate some note of mine
in a forum from English to German, and I have to admit it captured the
essence of my stick-up-the-….back style embarrassingly well.  It was
very "me".

Now I do think that the style of our English documentation is
comparatively consistent and straightforward, partly due to a number of
people working on it over and over again from the viewpoint of active
users (rather than programmers).  I think it would likely be a stylistic
better starting point rather than consulting the outdated documentation.
