Most fonts have “maintainance problems”, because fonts usually don’t need 
constant development. But the problem with EB Garamond is just that not all 
kerning and ligatures are perfect.

That looks interesting, but very big problem for me is that this one messes 
with the angle of the italics. Like it reduces the cursive angle from -17 to 
-11.3 or something, which is kind of killing the character of the italics. 
Visually it is almost an upright italic. Which would be fine as variant, but I 
like the original Design by Granjon better.
