Not hacklily in particular, but a web-accessible Lilypond server with unstable version, yes:

In 2013, I was premiering a new musical of mine (“Robin Hood: The Legendary Musical Comedy”). It was 7:30PM on opening night, and my band arrived for their half-hour call. My wind player asked, “Did you finish the piccolo part for the overture?” I said, “No… Just a minute.” I ran into the theatre office, commandeered a computer, connected to a web-based Lilypond editor, cranked out a piccolo part, printed it on the theatre’s printer, handed it to the wind player at 7:58PM, and then sat down at the keyboard to conduct/MD the show. (He sight-read the part wonderfully!)

I don’t remember exactly which unstable-version feature(s) I needed for that part, but I be it wasn’t “zero”.  :)

All that to say: I find myself — not often, but not never — in a position where I need to quickly crank out a score or part or exercise (e.g., for one of the Advanced Musicianship classes I teach), and I don’t have a copy of Lilypond to work with locally. In those moments, I appreciate being able to use an online version of what I use regularly, which is the latest unstable version.
